The Challenge: Aligning Finance and Go-to-Market
When I was CEO at PlanGrid, one of my biggest challenges was aligning finance with go-to-market. Every all-hands, board meeting, and leadership offsite surfaced the same frustrations.
Finance would present “finance-approved” numbers, sales had other graphs, and marketing brought their own story. Each function believed they were right, yet the data didn’t exactly match.
It wasn’t that we lacked tools or talent. We had a CRM, ERP, marketing automation, a full data team, and analysts within each function. But the data lived in silos, and even our smartest analysts spent more time reconciling definitions than driving insight. Finance spent most of their time crunching numbers in spreadsheets on their Windows machines, building models by hand.
Meanwhile, simple questions like “What’s our current retention?” or “How has churn trended over the last 8 quarters?” sparked arguments instead of answers. Weeks could pass before we had alignment, and by then the decisions we needed to make were already late.
Why Finance Reporting Often Breaks Down
Finance and GTM should operate as partners, but the way enterprise data is managed turns finance into a referee.
Different teams use different definitions for the same metric, and leadership wastes precious time checking numbers instead of driving strategy. The cost is real: wasted cycles, slow decisions, and erosion of trust in financial reporting.
The Need for Real-Time Finance Insights
Fast forward to today, and the stakes are even higher.
Business leaders can’t afford to wait weeks for answers in a world that moves by the day. Finance needs the same agility as product or sales: real-time insights, unified data, and secure access that doesn’t rely on gut instinct or manual reconciliation.
The rise of AI for finance and real-time analytics has made this possible, if the tools are built for how finance and GTM actually work together.
How TigerEye Solves This
That’s why we built TigerEye for Finance. It’s what I wished I had at PlanGrid.
With TigerEye, finance sits alongside GTM in one integrated system. ERP data connects seamlessly with CRM and marketing activity, so there’s finally a single source of truth. No more “finance math” vs. “sales math.”
With TigerChat, finance leaders can ask natural-language questions — “What’s our pipeline coverage?” “How did churn trend in Q2?” — and get instant, transparent answers.
Time Warp lets you replay past performance without combing through old reports.
And with role-based permissions, sensitive finance data stays secure while giving teams the access they need.
The Future of Enterprise Software: Clarity
The last decade of enterprise software was defined by distribution: the companies with the biggest sales teams won.
The next decade will be defined by clarity. By those who help businesses see and act on their data with confidence.
At TigerEye, our vision is simple: finance leaders shouldn’t spend their days checking numbers. They should be leading with them.
